Role Description
The Commercial Estimator will be responsible for estimating the cost of commercial flooring projects. This includes creating estimates (including takeoffs). This is a full-time on-site role located in Springfield, MO. The Commercial Estimator will work closely with clients and contractors to understand project requirements, and will use software programs to calculate the cost of materials, labor, and other expenses. The Commercial Estimator will also collaborate with project managers to ensure that estimates align with project budgets and timelines. This position will have to field calls from superintendents, owner representatives, and project managers. The Commercial Estimator role will also be responsible for attending Product Knowledge (PK) lunches in order to stay up to date on current trends and products. Each month, the commercial estimator will create reports and present them to the Commercial Manager.
Qualifications
2+ years experience in flooring estimating, construction estimating, or related fields.
Demonstrated proficiency with estimating software such as Measure Square preferred, but not required.
Excellent mathematical and analytical skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to interpret a blueprint accurately (The Commercial Estimator will be required to complete blueprint training classes, so prior experience is preferred, but not necessary).
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.) and Google Systems (Drive, Sheets, Email, etc.) preferred but not required.
Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse range of professionals, including contractors, vendors, and clients.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Commitment to providing excellent customer service and maintaining positive relationships with clients.
