HOW TO CLEAN YOUR WOCA OIL FINISHED HARDWOOD

WHY DOES THE FINISH OF THE PRODUCT MATTER?

Knowing the finish of your floors will determine how to properly maintain and care for them.  If a floor has an oil finish, it will be cared for differently than a floor with a urethane or a UV-cured finish.  For information on how to clean your urethane or UV-cured floors, click here. Oil finished floors have an open grain, so when the oil is applied, it absorbs into the hardwood, allowing it to harden and protect from the inside out.

WOCA NATURAL SOAP: REGULAR CLEANING

Step One: Remove loose particles by vacuuming or sweeping.

Step Two: Start by filling two buckets with water.  Mix the Woca Natural Soap in one bucket (3 ounces to 1 gallon) and use the second bucket for rinsing.

Step Three: Dip the mop into the bucket with the cleaning solution and wring out.  Mop small sections of the floor and rinse the mop frequently in the second bucket of clean water. Repeat until the floor is completely mopped. Change the water in the rinse bucket as needed. Allow floors to completely dry before walking on them (this should only take a few minutes).

*If you notice footprints after the floor is completely dry, wash floors again with only lukewarm water to remove excess soap.

Regular cleaning with the Woca Natural Soap will not only clean your floors, it will protect oil finished surfaces from dirt, stains, and other types of wear and tear.  Woca Natural Soap cleans and leaves behind a mixture of soy and coconut fats which greatly help to ward off most anything. It is recommended to use the Natural Soap every time you mop.

Woca Natural Soap now comes in a convenient ready-mixed spray bottle! You simply shake the spray before using, spray the surface and wipe with a clean cotton cloth.  The Woca Natural Soap spray is perfect for light cleaning your floors and can even be used on furniture.

WOCA OIL REFRESHER: QUATERLY RESTORATION

Woca Oil Refresher should be used for restoring the luster and beauty of oiled wood flooring. This also applies a protective, moisture resistant layer to the surface of your hardwood flooring.

It is recommended that you apply the Woca Oil Refresher 3 to 4 times per year to extend the life of the oil finish.

Step One: Remove loose particles by vacuuming or sweeping.

Step Two: Mop floors with Woca Natural Soap and allow to dry.

Step Three: Start by filling two buckets with water.  Mix the Woca Oil Refresher in one bucket (3 ounces to 1 gallon) and use the second bucket for rinsing.

Woca cleaning kits and sprays can be purchased in our showroom located at 2516 W. Battlefield Road, Springfield, Missouri 65807.

*Do not use microfiber mops on oil finished floors – these can be abrasive and wear down the oil finish.  Only use quality cotton yarn twist mops.
